Our plants
Huelva Plant
This Don Simón plant is unique, innovative and an international pioneer, surrounded by millions of orange trees in a privileged part of Andalusia: Huelva. To obtain the best juice, it is essential to harvest the oranges at their optimum ripeness and, most importantly, to squeeze them — freshly picked from the tree — within 24 hours, so none of their properties are lost.
In addition to Don Simón’s 1,500 hectares of its own orange groves, we also have long-term contracts with local farmers, guaranteeing loyalty and the consistent quality of our raw materials. At our plant, we are committed to organic farming and maintain a firm commitment to the environment, using fruit grown without phytosanitary treatments.
The plant has a threefold environmental objective: Zero waste, Net zero water consumption and Net zero polluting emissions. What’s more, within our estate we have a 250-hectare nature reserve to protect the natural habitat of the great bustard, a steppe bird classified as endangered.
Quality and technological development define not only this site, but the entire Don Simón brand — an international benchmark of how a family business has succeeded in selling millions of litres of Spanish juice worldwide.
Almería Plant
Known as the “vegetable garden of Europe”, since 1999 our Almería site has been home to the production of organic chilled freshly squeezed juice, gazpachos, soups and broths — all 100% natural products under the Don Simón and La Huerta Don Simón brands.
The plant is equipped with the latest technology, with facilities covering more than 15,000 m² on an 80,000 m² plot. In this area, García-Carrión purchases production from 1,200 hectares, owned by more than 850 farmers, with whom we have long-term agreements in place.
The plant has eight aseptic filling lines and the capacity to process more than 120,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables per year. At our Almería plant, we have implemented innovative solutions to protect the environmental aspects of sustainable development (water management, use of lower-emission fuels such as natural gas, waste management, etc.). Making the most of — and optimising — water consumption, a highly valued resource in the area, is one of our achievements in reducing environmental impact through the treatment and reuse of wastewater.
Jumilla Plant
The Jumilla plant was built in the early 1970s, when Bodega 1890 — located in the town centre since its foundation — was moved to the outskirts of Jumilla. The first high-speed bottling line (18,000 bottles per hour) was installed there, and in 1945 the brand “Castillo San Simón” was born — a wine made from the family’s vineyards.
It is also where Don Simón wine originated in the 1980s and, later, in the 1990s, juices, grape must and sangrias, also under the same brand. In 1995, a new facility was built for the production of chilled freshly squeezed juices and Don Simón gazpacho.
Segorbe Plant
This plant is located in the strategic area of Segorbe, close to the Port of Valencia. Since García-Carrión began operations in Segorbe in 2017, we have increased production capacity to 350 million litres per year, making a highly ambitious project a reality: to become leaders in both value and volume in juices, gazpachos, smoothies and plant-based drinks.
Today, the Segorbe plant has nine thermal treatment lines and twelve automated packaging lines. It has the capacity for the full production of tiger nut horchata, as well as other blended drinks such as oat, rice and almond beverages. It also operates a pioneering plan on a global scale: coordinating the entire production process with full traceability and maximum safety.
Daimiel Plant
In La Mancha (Daimiel), the world’s largest vineyard, is our major winery and juice plant, as well as García-Carrión’s logistics hub. It features Europe’s most advanced packaging technology and automation, with fully robotised industrial facilities spanning more than 120,000 m² and capacity to store 75,000 pallets.
For wines, we have our Global Winery, equipped to produce D.O. La Mancha wines, Vino de la Tierra, and all kinds of special wines packaged aseptically (low-alcohol wines, sparkling wines, summer reds, sangria, etc.), with a production capacity of 225 million litres.
For juices, with twenty aseptic packaging lines, the Daimiel plant can produce more than 600 million units per year, in all the formats demanded by the market.
The Daimiel plant is also García-Carrión’s global logistics centre, handling more than 250,000 cases per day, and is the highest-turnover plant in Castilla–La Mancha.
