Marquis of Carrión

The historic flavor of La Rioja

MARQUIS OF CARRIÓN

García Carrión has a presence in La Rioja with two wineries located in the municipalities of Labastida and Haro, towns with a long and renowned winemaking tradition. These wineries belong to the Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Alta subregions, respectively. These wineries are home to the finest vineyards in Rioja and the source of the grapes used to make Marqués de Carrión wines. We use four red and three white varieties to produce our wines in the DO Ca. Rioja. The latest winemaking techniques are applied throughout our vineyards, allowing us to produce high-quality grapes and achieve optimal ripeness for our cutting-edge wines.

RIOJA

Rioja represents the origin of quality wine in our country and, since 1991, has been the first Qualified Designation of Origin. This wine-producing region is located in the north of the country, between two mountain ranges that form a valley with the ideal climate for grape cultivation.
Most of the wines produced in this region are reds, made from the Tempranillo variety: the grape that best represents Spanish wines. This variety can produce red or black fruit profiles, depending on the growing microclimate and the type of wine intended. As for the white wines, they are mostly made from the Viura variety, resulting in fresh and aromatic wines.
