The historic flavor of La Rioja

YESTERYEAR

Tradition and quality in a unique wine

Antaño is produced in our winery located in Labastida, a historic town in Rioja Alavesa. The winery covers an area of 35,000 m2 and has a production and bottling capacity of 50 million bottles per year. It currently houses 20,000 American and French oak Bordeaux barrels where the wines rest calmly before bottling and subsequent bottle aging.

Rioja wines' traditional commitment to excellence has allowed them to consolidate their prestigious image among consumers and become the benchmark for quality in Spanish viticulture, both with their more classic wines, whose unique aging qualities are admired by consumers around the world, and with a new generation of innovative wines.

RIOJA

Rioja represents the origin of quality wine in our country and, since 1991, has been the first Qualified Designation of Origin. This wine-producing region is located in the north of the country, between two mountain ranges that form a valley with the ideal climate for grape cultivation.
Most of the wines produced in this region are reds, made from the Tempranillo variety: the grape that best represents Spanish wines. This variety can produce red or black fruit profiles, depending on the growing microclimate and the type of wine intended. As for the white wines, they are mostly made from the Viura variety, resulting in fresh and aromatic wines.

The vineyards of La Rioja are one of the greatest exponents of wine quality in our country, internationally recognized and appreciated throughout the world. García-Carrión has two wineries in this region with a long winemaking tradition.

There, they cultivate four red grape varieties and three white varieties to produce prestigious wines under this designation. The wineries cover a total of 55,000 square meters, housing a production capacity of 30 million liters, state-of-the-art winemaking technology, and a stock of 25,000 French and American barrels.
